History The Philadelphia Diesel Difference Working Group was developed as the result of a Conference organized by Philadelphia's Air Management Services and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on May 30, 2003 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The first Working Group meeting was held July 1, 2003. The Working Group accepted a set of Rules on "Organizational Structure and Decision Making Authority" to formally govern itself at the January 21, 2004 meeting. Background "The
'Philadelphia Diesel Difference' is a coalition of diverse stakeholders whose
primary purpose is to reduce the air pollutants associated with diesel-powered
engines in the greater Philadelphia area. The coalition encourages the voluntary
implementation of clean diesel technologies and the use of innovative strategies,
including market-based approaches. The Philadelphia Diesel Difference's activities
are coordinated by the Philadelphia Diesel Difference Working Group, referred
to below as the "Working Group." (Part
I of the Rules on "Organizational Structure and Decision Making Authority) Meetings The Working Group meets every month, except August. Generally, meetings are held on the third Monday of the month.
