Non-monetary
recognition can occur outside of the current membership of the Diesel Difference
Working Group, if a fleet has implemented clean diesel technologies that
satisfy given criteria.
-
Recognition
will be confined to fleets that implement clean diesel technologies. Vendors
who partner with these fleets in clean diesel technology projects will be
acknowledged within the context of such recognition.
-
Elected
officials and government agencies may be the subject of special recognition
as conditions merit, and with the approval of the Diesel Difference Working
group.
-
Three
"levels" of non-monetary recognition criteria were established:
I. Gold
A. Status given only to a select group of fleets, who have demonstrated
outstanding clean diesel technology initiatives that we wish other fleets
to replicate.
B. Recognizes the implementation of EPA-verified technologies AND clean
diesel fuels on X ratio/percentage of a fleet.
C. Recognition includes the scheduling of a press conference where a plaque
will be presented, compilation of a press release, a clean diesel decal, and
the publication of a success story.
D. Clean diesel technology applications that target at risk populations, such
as children and environmental justice communities, are weighed heavier in
the determination of gold level status.
II. Silver
A. Recognizes the implementation of EPA-verified technologies AND/OR clean
diesel fuels on Y ratio/percentage of a fleet.
B. Recognition includes the compilation of press release, a clean diesel decal,
and the publication of a success story.
- The
separation between gold and silver levels of criteria occurs with the ratio/percentage
of the fleet involved in the technology conversion and to what degree societal
benefits in health and/or emissions reductions can be adequately demonstrated.
III. Bronze
A. Recognizes clean diesel behavior, which can include the implementation
of anti-idling policies and devices, non-EPA verified technologies, and/or
EPA-verified technologies for Z ratio/percentage of a fleet.
B. Recognition includes the compilation of a success story, which will be
published on the Diesel Difference website.
- The
Diesel Difference Criteria Sub-committee maintains the right to determine
which proposed projects qualify for the gold level of recognition.
- The
Diesel Difference Criteria Sub-committee maintains the right to modify the
above criteria, in order to stay abreast of modifications in the clean diesel
marketplace.
